Hi, I am Natalie, the scientist behind the studio.
Natalie is a formulation scientist and educator with a passion for yapping about the science behind formulation.
You’ll usually find me nose-deep in a book about formulation science, biology or the science fundamentals. Ever since I landed my first role as a formulator, I’ve been obsessed with understanding how and why formulations perform the way they do. My interests span topical, nutrition and pharmaceutical development.
Over the past 5+ years, I’ve helped bring multiple formulations to market, including the Sandalwood Boswellia Firming Cream, which showed clinically proven results in 4 just weeks! Along this journey, I’ve developed a deep passion for science communication and chatting about one of the coolest jobs us chemists can have.
BeautySci Studios is a space for lifelong learning in formulation science and growing as a scientist over time.

I have a bachelor’s degree in Chemistry and a MEng in Biological Chemical Engineering.
I am a current graduate student in the pharmaceutics department at Saint Jospeh’s University with the hope of pursing a PhD.
I also hold a certificate in Personal Care Formulation from the Institute of Personal Care Science.

My industry experience spans working at both a brand and a contract manufacturer in the skincare, oral care and OTC space. I have helped formulate and launch 7 figure products and am passionate about formulating for efficacy.
I am the past chair of the Intermountain West Chapter of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists. I am currently serving on the Education Committee for Nationals.
